LEADERSHIP
The longstanding problems deaf communities face in education, employment, accessibility, and social outcomes clearly illustrate the critical need for community leadership. Long-term impact on deaf communities cannot be achieved without building local leadership capacity.
At Deaf Empowerment, we believe that when deaf people have opportunities to advance their skills and roles, they can create deeper, longer-lasting changes in their communities.
Our Approach
The Community Leadership Program provides deaf leaders the knowledge and opportunities for collaborative leadership skills. Participants have access to a global network of diverse leaders from multiple organizations and sectors who provide training on effective collaborations, engaging in innovative practices to address community-wide challenges, and on how to design and lead effective change.
Participants learn how to:
Form successful partnerships with local, national and international agencies
Accomplish goals through creative problem-solving
Prepare future generations of deaf leaders
